Independent Living Project

How we are helping:

 At the end of 2020 we partnered with the San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center (SGPRC) in California to support them in their efforts to serve and empower people with developmental disabilities (intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and other closely related conditions). The SGPRC works to advocate for independent living and full inclusion into community living through various services.

For many with life long developmental disabilities, the options may be limited to either living in mental institutions or trying to survive on their own.

For those that just need some extra help to live a full life on their own, SGPRC is there to help them through the process of renting an apartment, budgeting, getting a job, receiving the services that are available to them, to name a few.

When SGPRC identifies that an individual needs additional help to continue living independently, then Seva Circle steps in to help.

We are helping people with things like money for food, replacing large broken appliances, helping to furnish an apartment for a family in need, taking care of some utility bills for someone who lost their job, etc.
